Meet Our Team
Kristin Berry, San Diego Recruiter:
Kristin was a litigation paralegal for several years with one of the largest plaintiffs’ law firms in the country. After leaving the law firm environment, she worked in-house for a well-known hi-tech company as part of their litigation team. The transition from paralegal to recruiter came naturally because she was able to use her legal background as a foundation for legal experience and law firm requirements. Prior to founding Legal Ease in the fall of 2002, she had worked with another staffing agency. She is a seasoned recruiter with several years of experience and understands the demands of legal support personnel, the law firm culture and client expectations.
Kristin graduated with a BA degree in Sociology and minor in Law & Society from the University of California at San Diego. Upon graduating with her BA, she completed the ABA Paralegal Program at the University of San Diego. Through the University of San Diego’s employment assistance program, she was able to begin her career as a Paralegal.
Karen Whitaker, San Jose/Peninsula Recruiter/Branch Manager:
Karen’s experience as a legal secretary and executive assistant laid the groundwork for her success as a staffing specialist in the legal working environment. She worked as a legal secretary and executive assistant within a law firm and in-house legal departments. Karen earned her BA degree in Marketing at St. Mary’s University, Moraga, California and is an active sponsor of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. She is also an Advisory Board Member of West Valley College’s Paralegal program. Karen is a requested speaker at De Anza Community College, San Francisco State as well as West Valley College.
